Contact Your Creditors
As soon as you realize that you may have trouble making payments on time, take the initiative to contact your creditors directly. Explain that you are experiencing money problems and ask if a suitable payment plan can be worked out. most companies understand that things don't always go so well, and are more then willing to help out their customers like this.
The big trick to this is to do it BEFORE there's any problems. Companies can be understanding, but once the debt collectors are called in you loose any advantage you had in trying to work things out early.
